The number one rated triple jumper in the nation, Kasen Covington, a senior from Boise, Idaho, claimed gold at the 32nd annual Simplot Games with a leap of 23’6”. One event down for Covington, one to go, the triple jump event will take place later today).
“I was a little scared cause I scratched all my jumps in the prelims and ended up having to go first in the final,” said Covington. “But luckily, everything came out ok. I used it (my placement) as motivation and posted an indoor personal record.”
