Boise’s Kasen Covington wins boy’s triple jump at Simplot

Adds triple jump title to earlier long jump title

Kasen Covington a senior, from Boise representing YMCA Team Idaho won the boy’s triple jump at the 32nd annual Simplot Games. He won with a jump of 48’0-¼”. Covington fouled on his first two attempts but rose to the challenge and won.

“I usually don’t foul that much; I had to go back to the basics,” said Covington.

Covington also took the gold in the long jump. That helped him win two events this year, along with triple jump title last year.

“I love the Simplot Games, it’s an awesome meet to come and compete at,” said Covington.
